Prof. Burçin Ünlü from the Physics Department founded this research lab with the support of the Ministry of Development in 2016. The Medical and Biological Physics Laboratory aims to develop state-of-the-art laser and imaging solutions for collaborators from Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics departments, and medical schools.
The infrastructure contains commercial microscopes, such as the Zeiss Axio Observer fluorescence microscope and Zeiss Palm MicroTweezers and a scanning acoustic microscope from Honda, a home-built photo-acoustic microscope, and a Raman microscope + tweezer setup. Currently, we have two lab spaces, one on Kare Blok's 3rd floor and the other at ETA buildings, where we also have a femtosecond laser and a high-energy OPO laser. You can find further details of our scientific output in the "Publications" section.
